Optimised Website Design

There is more to website design than just how a page may look.  There are certain design criteria that are essential to bear in mind - but that are not immediately obvious to most people.  These fall into two clear categories:

  • Search Engine Optimised design (SEO).  This is ensuring that certain 'hidden' page elements are in existence that allow a site to be effectively indexed by the main search engines.  There are also a number of other design considerations to be taken account of that optimise a site's chances of being indexed correctly and effectively.
  • Usability and Accessibility.  There is established UK legislation that requires websites to be 'accessible' to website users who may have visibility impairments and/or mobility impairments, etc.  Although prosecutions are rare, it will be the case that more and more companies will be taken to court by the UK authorities if they fail to make their sites accessible.  In the UK, the Disability Rights Commission (DRC) is responsible for ensuring websites are made accessible.

We are highly conversant with the various accessibility and search engine optimisations required and have embedded these within our software export routines.  This means that site optimisations are automatically made with each export of your website.
