Course Merchant - E-commerce for Moodle - Latest Features
The following have been added recently:
1. XML feed of latest products
This was in response to the needs of a client who wanted to pull through an automatic feed of courses directly into their corporate website and Moodle. This is now part of the core build.
2. Automated VAT Invoicing Linked to HMRC Exchange Rates
One recent customer prices in US dollars though they are UK-based and registered for VAT in the UK. They needed to automatically send a VAT invoice in sterling to all UK registered customers and a non-VAT invoice in dollars to all other non-EU customers. They also needed to be able to request the tax id for EU (but not UK) registered companies so that VAT was not charged. All this had to be linked to the current HMRC exchange rates to ensure the dollar to sterling conversion was correct. This feature is now available as part of the core build.
3. Face-to-Face Booking Module
A recent customer requested a better interface for booking face-to-face, offline workshops. This is scheduled for release in January 2010. It will then become part of the core build.
4. Line Manager Authorisation
A recent corporate customer requested a payment method for their vertical supply chain and internal training needs. This meant that students would not be paying for the courses directly using their credit card, but would need Line Manager authorisation to approve the budget spend. This is being built and will be available for the core build in January 2010.
5. Affiliate Systems - Idevaffiliate for Moodle using Course Merchant
Course Merchant allows Moodle course vendors to set up and manage an affiliate system. This is an essential method for creating a distributed sales channel - allowing you to maximise elearning course sales.
More information regarding affiliate systems in general is available on our blog at http://www.eshopsfables.com/?p=40. Information below is regarding how Course Merchant functions with its internal affiliate system, or with idevaffiliate.
